Promoting understanding
and compassion for animals

What is this all about?

My name is Di and I am an animal lover. Chances are if you are reading this, then you are too.
This blog is for all of us who totally, utterly and passionately love animals.
And if like me, you have ever wondered why you are the way you are, then I hope you may begin to find some answers here.

If you are new to the site, please go to the first entry for ‘Di’s Diary’ and introduce yourself. You can also learn about the other contributors and read their stories.

The site consists of three main sections.

There is a blog where you can read and comment on excerpts from my book “And Not a Word Was Spoken… Reflections of an Animal Lover”. This book is a personal and introspective account of what it means to be an ‘animal lover’ and I have attempted to give meaning and substance to this surprisingly common but seldom explained term.

There is a second blog which addresses general topics related to animals, the human/ animal bond and everday stories about the animals at Tallara Park. The topics are varied and my aim is to make you think about, and share your opinions, feelings and beliefs.

And finally the website contains information on my own family of animals and stories about their wonderful personalities and eccentricities. It chronicles my journey in creating Tallara Park Sanctuary – a place where animals can live in safety and experience compassion and respect. It is my hope that the sanctuary can also help other animals in less fortunate circumstances by educating people to the wonderful world that awaits them when they open their hearts to animals.
